Is there an age limit for the tour?​​
Lantern Ghost Tours are not suitable for children under the age of 8. Please note that tour content may not be suitable for all children and parental discretion is advised

Is there much walking on the tour?​​
Tours are an easy walk, with an emphasis on stories. Patrons note that on some of our tours there are stairs, steps and uneven surfaces.

Are there toilets on the tours?​​
All tours have toilet facilities at the starting point.

Please ensure you have completed any required ablutions before the scheduled starting time of your tour!

As there are no toilet stops during the tour.

What happens if it rains?

All tours run hail rain or shine. Bad weather adds to the atmosphere.

Patrons often travel very far to attend a ghost tour therefore only under extreme weather conditions do we cancel tours.

Please dress according to the Weather conditions.

Will I see a ghost?​​​​
Guests have had many paranormal experiences on our ghost tours including sightings, unexplained smells, sounds and occurences. However, Lantern Ghost Tours cannot guarantee any contact with the supernatural.

Are their any staged hauntings or ghosts?​​
No, Lantern Ghost Tours are a group of paranormal investigators, psychics and ghost enthusiasts. We let the stories and atmosphere speak for themselves.

Can we take photos during the tour?​​
Yes! However we do request that flash photography be pointed away from the guides. Please follow the instructions of your tour guide at all times. Recording devices of any type are not permitted on tours unless authorized in writing by Lantern Ghost Tours.

How to book a tour
Can I book my tour through the website?
Yes. You can book your tour through our website. Simply select your preferred tour and choose the option “Check availability/ book now”. The available dates will display. Follow the on screen instructions to complete your order. Our secure payment system accepts VISA and Mastercard.

Can I book my tour over the phone?
Yes. You can call us anytime on 1300 557 682 to book your tour. Our secure payment system accepts VISA and Mastercard.

Can I pay on the night?
No. Due to council bylaws and tour guide safety, we are not authorised to take cash payments during the tours. All tours must be paid for in advance prior to the tour.
Can I pay a deposit?
No. Tours are not confirmed until full payment is received.
Booking with a Gift Certificate/ Voucher
I was given a Gift Certificate issued by Lantern Ghost Tours, how do I redeem it?
Simple! Select your preferred tour and at the time of booking, simply enter your Gift Certificate Code into the “Promotional Code” box and it will deduct the value from the total cost of the tour. You can use your gift certificate towards any Lantern Ghost Tour.

I have a promotional code for a discounted tour, how do I apply it?
Simple! Select your preferred tour and at the time of booking, simply enter your Promotional Code into the “Promotional Code” box and it will apply the discount from the total cost of the tour. Promotional codes are only valid for particular tours, dates and time frames.
I bought a gift certificate from another company, how do I redeem it?
You need to follow the instructions on the gift certificate. Some companies such as Redballoon, Godo, Freemanx, Australian Travel Specialists, Best of Victoria, Adrenalin, Experience Oz require you to call them or login to their system to process the gift certificate. Once you have done that, your booking is then confirmed in our booking system. Unfortunately we cannot process these certificates directly as we do not have access to their systems.
I have a voucher from another company, how do I redeem it?
You need to follow the instructions on the voucher which tell you to visit our online booking form located here.  Enter in all your details and your tickets will be issued within 48 hours. Please note that vouchers are only valid for selected tours, dates and timeframes. If you have any queries, please email us. We cannot accept phone bookings for vouchers as our call centre does not have access to these booking systems. If you require a tour on a specific date, it is best to book directly with Lantern Ghost Tours rather than a third party voucher site.
Private Tours for Corporate Groups, Hens Parties, School Groups, Fundraisers
Are tours suitable for Hens Parties?

Yes! We run hens parties throughout the year. We take all the headache out of organising your special night and have excellent 2 course dinner and tour packages. Email us for more information.
How do fundraising tours work?
Lantern Ghost Tours are big supporters of local communities and charities we donate significant time and money to support their wonderful work. If you have a charity or a good cause that you would like to support we can help you through our fundraiser tours.

Organise a Private Tour and Lantern Ghost Tours will donate $5 per ticket sold to your designated charity. Charities must be registered and their details provided in order for Lantern Ghost Tours to make direct payment. Contact us for details.
Are ghost tours suitable for corporate groups?
Yes! We are a very popular choice for corporate Christmas parties and events throughout the year. We take the headache out of organising your event. We offer a selection of unique venues, dinner and tour options.

All of our tours can be taken as a corporate tour. These are exclusively for your group only and require a minimum of 15 people to run. They can be taken any day or time of the week subject to availability. We do not charge you any more than the Lantern Ghost Tours Retail Price for the respective tours. Contact us for further information.
Receiving Tickets
Electronic Tickets
Once payment is made you will receive your tickets electronically via email. The tour is then confirmed.

I have not received my tickets via email
Guests generally receive their tickets within minutes of booking. If you do not receive your tickets, please check your Spam folder. The tickets are issued by our booking system, Trybooking. If you still have not received your tickets after 2 hours, please email us and we will reissue them.

Can you post my tickets to me?
Lantern Ghost Tours are proud to be a 100% paperless office. We submit all tickets electronically. In the case that you cannot print your tickets, please show your tour guide your ticket on your smartphone. Your name will also be on our guest list.

Tour Confirmation
I am not sure if I am booked in?
If you booked directly with Lantern Ghost Tours through the website or our call centre, you would have seen a confirmation screen that confirms you have been booked in. If you are using a gift voucher that was purchased from another company, you need to follow the instructions on your gift voucher and allow 48 hours for the tickets to be processed. In this case, your tour is not confirmed until you receive your tickets.
Do I need to reconfirm my tour?
No. All tours are confirmed once you receive your tickets.
Children
Is there an age limit for the tour?

• Children must be over the age of 8 to attend our Ghost Tours. Parental discretion advised as some content not suitable for young children.

• Children must be over the age of 12 to attend the J Ward Lunatic Asylum Ghost Tour. Parental discretion advised.

• Guests must be 18+ to attend Paranormal Investigations and Weekends Away.

Are your tours suitable for School Groups?
Lantern Ghost Tours offers specially tailored School Groups at discounted prices. We run school group tours regularly throughout Victoria during the day and night and they are a great way for students to learn about history through an informative and entertaining medium. Please contact us for information on Gold Coast School tours.
Special Requirements
Are the tours suitable for wheelchairs?
Current Lantern Ghost Tours that are accessible for wheelchairs is only the Surfers Paradise tour. On our Melbourne tours the Old Melbourne Ghost Tour and the Ghost of the Old City Tour in Williamstown are accessible. We also offer access on our other tours, however not all parts of the buildings are fully accessible. We also ask for you to inform us in advance of mobility restrictions.
Dietary Restrictions
If you have selected a dinner and tour package, you will receive an option of dishes including:

• Meat
• Seafood
• Vegetarian

We can cater for dietary requirements provided advance notice is given. Please ensure you select the correct dinner type when purchasing your tour and notify of any special dietary requirements or allergies at time of booking. The booking system asks of any special requirements before payment is made.
Are tours suitable for guests with sight or hearing impairments?
Yes. Please notify us at time of booking so we can ensure that our tour guides can accommodate you. Please also remind your tour guide before your tour commences.
